Hip Hop For HIV Awareness

In efforts to educate people about HIV/AIDS, Houston hip-hop radio station KBXX-FM 97.9 The Box will sponsor a free concert. The station has teamed up with The Houston Department of Health and Human Services, Amerigroup Community Care, as well as the city's AIDS Foundation and NAACP branch to launch the Hip Hop For HIV Awareness campaign.
Hip Hop For HIV Awareness is the largest testing event in the United States. The goal of the campaign is to provide free and confidential HIV and syphilis screening to 15,000 youth and young adults between the ages of 15-40 in the Houston area. The free testing is for four consecutive days at the NAACP Family Technology Center located at 4203 Fannin Street in Houston and will continue at various other locations across the city through July 10th.
Everyone who gets tested will receive a free ticket to the July 11th show at George R. Brown Convention Center, which features Plies, Bun B, Twista, Yung LA, Gorilla Zoe, Day26, Bobby Valentino, LeToya Luckett and Ginuwine.
