On March 6th, "Beeda Weeda" will release his latest album, "Too $hort Presents: Bass Rock Babies" via Clear Label Records. Already this month, "Beeda" released a pre-album mixtape, "Bass Rock Babies: The Leak", and now he's excited to release his new single, "Do It Biggie". The song, which recently premiered on "Bay Area" radio powerhouse 106 KMEL and has become of a fast favorite of radio personality Big Von, is a boisterous affair, with horn stabs and 808s laying the foundation for "Beeda's" high energy raps.
And despite repping "East Oakland", the record was crafted with the utmost appreciation for the "East Coast" innovator from whom the song draws its name, paying homage to the legacy of "Notorious B.I.G." and his Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood. Throughout the song, "Beeda" incorporates references, scratches, and even lyrics from Biggie. "Thuggin' like 2pac/ Pimpin' like Pimp C/ Smoking like Marley/ B*tch I do it Biggie," raps "Beeda" on the song's chorus, while incorporating elsewhere like, "Roll the trees up in my Philly, light it up like, 'Baby, baby!'"
"Beeda Weeda" is a young rapper/producer hailing from "East Oakland, CA", and first got his start in 2006 with his nationally recognized "Homework" mixtape. Later that same year, "Beeda" released his acclaimed debut album, "Turfology 101".
Riding the wave of notoriety his single, "Turfs Up", got him huge success including a music video airing on 32 stations, generating over 1,000,000 hits online and boosting the rapper to number 3 on MySpace's Top 10 Hip Hop/Rap Artists.
He later worked on a remix of the track with a number of Bay Area legends including E-40 and Too $hort, among others. He has produced for such acts as Brooklyn's own Wildcats, Suga Free, Yuckmouth and more.
His latest project, "Bass Rock Babies: The Leak", is a free mixtape and precursor to the full-length album, "Too $hort Presents: Bass Rock Babies", due out on March 6th, 2012 via Clear Label Records.
