Guru first made his presence felt as part of the group Gangstarr with DJ Premier in 1989 with the release of their first album No More Mr. Nice Guy. The pairing of the Boston MC and the Texas producer yielded the smash “Manifest” as Guru spit enlightening lyrics.
Several more classics followed that consisted of Step In The Arena, Daily Operation, Hard To Earn, Moment Of Truth and The Ownerz.
Numerous hits from those releases included “Just To Get A Rep”, “Take It Personal”, “DWYCK”, “Mass Appeal” and “Royalty.”
After Gangstarr called it quits around 2004 after their final release The Ownerz, Guru headed out on a solo expedition with producer Solar and released his last effort Guru 8.0: Lost & Found in 2009.
Throughout his career, Guru was an avid jazz fan and released several Jazzmatazz projects that blended the Hip-Hop MC over instrumentals from jazz musicians.

“I encourage other people out there with a hair loss problem to accept your reality and make the most of it. For what I do, I feel like I’m a bad bitch and I don’t need hair to make me. When I want to wear the hair I will. But for now, the most important thing for me to do is go through my treatments to make my scalp healthy which will intern give me a healthy head of hair.”
So, "Janelle Monae" is not new to the music scene but she's just now starting to get seen. With her album "ArchAndroid" drop'n May 18th she tells the story behind the crown and the album name. (Sounds like some old "Erykah Badu" voo-doo type poo)

Several members of 1954 were hunted down and executed for this crime. But the crown was never found. Many claim it has been secreted away to the Wonderground. There is also word that in the year 2010, several 1954 operatives have crafted a replica of this historic headdress to be worn by Janelle Monáe in anticipation for her album The ArchAndroid…no word on whether or not this replica has magic properties… The Living Cyktionary, 9th Edition, 2719.
