Off " #TheFocusTape"

Twitter @Dee1music

With the release of his latest project, #TheFocusTape, approaching next Tuesday, October 9th, New Orleans’ own Dee-1 is releasing his newest single, “The Man In My City” ft. Juvenile and Mannie Fresh, the latter of whom is hosting #TFT. The self-proclaimed “One Man Army” has now partnered up with top hip-hop site 2DopeBoyz for the release of the mixtape, and fans can visit the 2DBZ homepage to stream the mixtape in full come release day.

"The Man In My City," track four on #TheFocusTape, unites Dee with hometown heroes Juvenile and Mannie Fresh. The song details the idea that some people misrepresent themselves within their community and don’t carry as much clout as they may believe; in “Mannie Fresh Speaks Pt. 1,” the mixtape host elaborates, saying, “In my city, I’m the man in my city – I can go down there without security or whatever.” Along with Mannie’s former Cash Money Millionares cohort Juvenile on the track, the trio makes it clear who really runs their hometown, as each drops a verse as evidence over a beat produced by C Smith.

"Columbus, Ohio" Group "MHz Legacy
Ft "Danny Brown"

@Copywrite @Rjd2 @tage27 @MANBITESDOGRECS

On October 30th, MHz Legacy will release their new, self-titled album via Man Bites Dog Records. The album will be the first cohesive offering from MHz Legacy in over a decade - but it's not because the crew hasn't been busy.

RJD2 has become one of music's most rangy and talented producers; Copywrite, who spent the aughts being courted by Roc-A-Fella Records, remains, along with Jakki Da Motamouth and Tage Future, among rap's most talented lyricists; and Camu Tao, before his untimely passing in 2008 following a bout with lung cancer, was a flagship artist on the now-defunct Def Jux label, forming the duo Central Services with El-P, and serving, with his unique style and delivery, as an influence to many. Two of those people that call Camu influences are Danny Brown and Harry Fraud, both of whom appear on this latest single from MHz Legacy, "Spaceship".

Following the late-August release of their new full length album, Diggaz With Attitude, producers Stu Bangas & Vanderslice have kept the ball rolling with a string of new videos and singles. All told, the production duo has released a collection of singles that have featured the likes of Roc Marciano, The Alchemist, Evidence, Apathy, Vinnie Paz, Celph Titled, Planet Asia, and more, and today, Stu & Vander are excited to release the video for the latest single from DWA, for the song "The Realest," which features rappers Ill Bill and Slaine of La Coka Nostra.

"The Realest," premiered today by Prefix, like the fan-favorite video for "1st Degree Murder," which now has over 40,000 views on YouTube, features a collage of footage, pulled from various trippy clips that includes video of riots, military take-downs, and more. Ill Bill and Slaine add their own element to the raw, heavy-hitting beat, delivering hardcore verses that fit right in with the video's adrenaline-inducing images. "Slaine came over one afternoon and picked the beat and recorded his verse that night," says Stu Bangas, who produced this particular track. "I've worked with Slaine for years, and then, when I started working with Bill, I thought it would be dope to get him on it."

Since release, SL and Burn One have brought their music on the road while also releasing a string of new videos from the project, and now, as each of them plans a variety of new projects, the two are giving fans one last treat from Paraphernalia, a remix for the fan-favorite "T.H.C." The remix features ST 2 Lettaz (formerly of G-Side), Scotty, and Deniro Farrar.

"Some Bullsh!t," premiered this afternoon by Complex , is easily one of the most fun, lighthearted tracks from Media Shower, with an upbeat, horn, string, and clap-driven instrumental courtesy of Dub Sonata. The three rappers, for their part, trade wordplay heavy verses – "Swing blades with young Tyson-fade skills/ Treat your skin like the plastic tops of microwave meals," raps Double A.B.; "Ni**as cut corners in order to look good/ Me – I cut ni**as in order to look hood," counters Sean Price. The video, directed by Steven Tapia, is just as fun as the song, with the three rappers tipping back shots and wreaking havoc at a local nightclub.

Opening with Charlie Chaplin’s final speech in The Great Dictator,  “Voice of the People” is a moving visual for a thought provoking track. The song "Speaks on the various issues of society today and was made to help enlighten the ears of the listener. The sad reality is that many people, especially children today are without healthy living conditions. These are tough conditions that people tend to ignore,” said Sullee J.

This is the definition of what I do. This is the epitome of who I am. This is Sullee J, and what Justice means. "Voice of The People" speaks on the various issues of society today, and was made to help enlighten the ears of the listener. The sad reality is that many people, especially children today, are without healthy living conditions. These are tough issues that society seems to ignore. At times, we might not feel like we have much, but we have enough to get by. Everybody needs help, especially the helpless! The idea behind Saint Christopher Children's Home is to assist in the provision of a building to house neglected children. These children are mainly abuse victims, neglected or abandoned children, orphans, or those placed there by court order. I told you I will better this world, whether you believe it or not. I will continue to pursue my dreams and work hard toward generating an interest in doing good whether you agree or not. I believe in living to make others smile.

"God Listens"

Twitter: @MCTreeG

"God Listens" premiered today on MTVHive, this is what Deniro & MTV had to say about the heartfelt track: “I almost came to tears writing that song,” says the North Carolina-based artist Deniro Farrar of “God Listens,” a new track that has him and guest rapper Tree opening up their hearts about the people and events of their past.

The track conjures up a redemptive vibe thanks to the mix of church-style organ lines and a rolling drum machine beat and immediately hits a tender note, not least when Deniro drops consecutive lines musing on having a mom “free from dope” and also confessing “it feel good knowing I’m an uncle.”

As Deniro recalls, when Tree sent him the song it already contained the hook, so all he had to do was “talk about the emotional and close events that happened in my life, especially as Tree has the soulful sound and that pain in his voice.”

"His effort and grind has made his dream into a reality. Airon A'flic is representative of a new vision and movement that has many questioning, WHAT IS TUNNEL VISION?

This Northern California native has been creating a buzz through the web and has quickly become the center attraction with his lyrical content and “CATCHY SONGS”.

Airon A'flic, born Jamani Perry, grew up in the Bay Area and has had many influences as a kid that contributed to his love and passion for this industry. At the age of 11 he wrote his first verse in a composition notebook and then started storing them in old Nike shoe boxes in his closet. Airon A'flic responded, “When I think about it now, it was more like poetry because I only had like 1 or 2 beats and they were all on tapes”, and then begins to laughs as he recalls it.
Airon has come along way and continues to follow a tunnel vision to reach his goals by surpassing obstacles to reach success. This recent college graduate of Sacramento State has fought to chase his dreams while gaining a college degree in the process. Airon responded, “Some rappers believe its not necessary to go to college, and I don’t blame them, but, I just felt like instead of complaining about going to school and trying to manage my rap career, it will only make me better and give me more content then the average rapper”.
His influences comes from many artists who all have their own particular style, Airon A'flic then responded, “I’m influenced by many rappers in the past and present, I like how 2-Pac was so passionate and was able to balance lyrical content with edge”, and then said, “Today as an upcoming rapper, I really respect, Kanye West because he’s a man with many talents and is a trend setting rapper wit fashion and music”.

With that being said, there is only more to come from this extraordinary and talented rapper who displays his unique and different sound as, “Movie Music”, that has many feelings that all people can relate to. With his his buzz continuing to grow and as he is gaining recognition from other local artists and blog sites, his upcoming projects, will surely only continue this rappers success and further his career."

"Diggaz With Attitude" Drops 8/28/12

Lurking in the dark shadows, with the things that creep in the night, the Brutal Music team of Stu Bangas & Vanderslice work to create their musical madness.

Vanderslice, who has long since been a "digger" for the stars and Stu Bangas, who has been a big part of Boston's recently burgeoning hip-hop scene, first came together to produce the now-acclaimed Blaq Poet Society, an album with Screwball MC Blaq Poet.

In the process, the production duo joined forces with indie label Man Bites Dog Records, and are now prepping their latest project, Diggaz With Attitude, or D.W.A. for short. Individually, Stu Bangas & Vanderslice have produced for a who's-who of underground favorites, a list that includes Sean Price, Apathy, Vinnie Paz, Ill Bill, Copywrite, and Heltah Skeltah, among others.

For D.W.A., Stu & Vanderslice enlisted a number of those same artists, in addition to Roc Marciano, The Alchemist, Evidence, and more. Diggaz With Attitude will be released August 28, 2012 via Man Bites Dog Records.

Off "Fortune" Album

Yea, I'm a lil late, cuz my niece "Jaidel", been up on this, but I LOVE IT!!!!!! She said this version is slowed down and it's supposed to be faster, but me an "Timmy Lee" agree, that this is the way "Don't Judge Me" should be.<<Love IT.....

I don't wanna go there...
We should never go there...
Why you wanna go there...
I guess I gotta go there...

Your hearing rumors about me
And you can't stomach the thought
Of someone touchin my body
When your so close to my heart
I wont deny what their sayin'
Because most of it is true
But it was all before I fell for you
So please babe...

So please don't judge me
And I wont judge you
Cause it could get ugly
Before it gets beautiful
Please don't judge me
And I wont judge you
And if you love me
Then let it be beautiful...

Let it be beautiful, oh oh
Let it be beautiful...
Let it be beautiful, oh ohh
Let it be beautiful...

Everything I say right now
Is gunna be used in another fight
I been through this so many times
Can we change the subject?
You gunna start askin me questions like
"was she attractive? was she an actress?
Baby the fact is... "
Your hearing rumors about me
And saw some pictures online
Sayin they got you so angry
Making you wish you were blind
Before we start talkin crazy
Sayin some things we'll regret
Can we just slow it down
Brace yourself. your beautiful
(So baby...)

So please don't judge me
And I wont judge you
Cause it could get ugly
Before it gets beautiful
Please don't judge me
And I wont judge you
And if you love me
Then let it be beautiful...

Just let the past, just be the past
And focus on things that's gunna make us last, take me as who I am, not who
I was, I promise I'll be... the one that you can trust...

So please don't judge me
And I wont judge you
Cause it could get ugly
Before it gets beautiful
Please don't judge me
And I wont judge you
And if you love me
Then let it be beautiful...

Let it be beautiful, oh oh
Let it be beautiful...
Let it be beautiful, oh ohh
Let it be beautiful...

Yeaah yeah yeaah...

I don't wanna go there...
We should never go there...

With music being a universal symbol of enjoyment and feeling for all who listen to and create it, such a form of leisure has created avenues all across the world that people can travel along. "DJ 4eign" hails as an ideal example of a musician who’s successfully maneuvered down these roads along his journey to success.

Born in the African nation of Kenya, 'DJ 4eign" (pronounced foreign) has become a success locally and overseas as a result of his exploits as a highly acclaimed disc jock. Hailing as the official DJ for internationally renowned Reggae singer, "Da’Ville", "DJ 4eign" has infiltrated the airwaves through his weekend spots on WJFM Jam’n 94.5 FM in Boston as well as Caribbean Connection, a new show that the Shadyville Caribbean turntable specialist hosts on Sundays (10 p.m. to midnight) HOT 99.1FM in Albany, New York.

However, before becoming well known for his craft in the U.S., "DJ 4eign" became inspired to follow the DJ path by watching professionals like DJ Pinye and DJ Morris showcase their skills back in his native Kenya.
“I was inspired by the local DJs in Kenya in my younger years, and found it fascinating how they mixed songs together; kept a party moving… That's when I caught the bug and I wanted to be a DJ. So much so that I would use 2 tape decks to mix songs, scratch my Dad’s disco records (and destroy them *laughs*), or just mixing songs in my head,” he explains.

“It wasn't until I moved to the U.S. to finish my secondary schooling that about a year later, I acquired my 1st set of technics 1200's and a mixer; linked up with a fellow African native and Renegade Sound station was born. The rest is history, I've been living my dream as a DJ ever since.”
Part of living that dream included working with many of Jamaica’s top acts including Mr. Vegas, Serani, Red Rat, Cham, I-Octane and Laza Morgan to name a few. With his affinity for Dancehall/Reggae music evident, "DJ 4eign" has watched award-winning acts such as Sean Paul and the aforementioned Da’Ville evolve into superstars while building his own musical legacy.

“I consider myself a student and fan of music and most of the now prominent artistes were just busting on the scene around the time that I began my career. So I was always a fan of artistes such as Sean Paul and Da'Ville and always wanted to work with them at some point in my journey since I saw them evolve from new artist to the stars they are now,” he said.

“I also like being involved and working with up and coming artists who show the hunger and drive to be successful. It’s always great to be instrumental and play a part in an artiste’s career.”

These ventures with Sean Paul and Da’Ville have proved successful as the former artiste hosted part one of the Dancehall Kings series created by "DJ 4eign" while the latter artiste’s new mixtape, Vitamin D also featured the Kenyan-born disc jock’s skills as he helped promote tracks off the "Can’t Get Over You" singer’s newly-released album, "Krazy Love".
Many persons wouldn’t consider Boston, MA as a proverbial hot-bed for Dancehall, Reggae or urban music in general. However, DJ 4eign insists that the market in which he’s currently based offers strong support to these respective genres.

“We are a market where major and up and coming artist frequent to build up their fan base so that alone says a lot,”he said.
“The dances ram and the stage shows full up. Weather I’m playing on the radio or at clubs, dancehall/reggae tun up in the ‘Bean’!”

Back home, the reception has proved just as strong as "DJ 4eign" hopes one day to perform in front of the native crowd.

“I played on a radio station Uptown 91.1FM in Nairobi (big up G-Money) for a little while before the station moved, which was "1000%" Dancehall. But Africa, Especially Kenya, has really gravitated and embraced Dancehall music. Some of the biggest names in Dancehall are frequenting the mother land now more than ever before and there are even some wicked artist that are coming out of the continent now,” he intimated.
For "DJ 4eign", his travels and experiences within music have helped him to gauge what fans want to hear when on the turntables. The main objective going into any set for "DJ 4eign" is entertaining those he plays for.

“My purpose whenever I'm in the mix, on the radio, in a club or even mixtapes is to give the listener the ultimate experience. The ability to read a crowd or know your listeners is step one; next is knowing your music and how to select it. Add some mic talk and you have the perfect recipe for that ultimate experience,” he advises.
“Anybody can DJ but not everyone can entertain.”

Going forward, "DJ 4eign" will continue his Dancehall Kingsseries which he says will have many top entertainers on offer. Furthermore, he hopes to drop more collaborative mixtapes with Da’Ville in the near future and promises new projects from himself and Renegade Sound as the year rolls on as he looks not only to advertise his own credentials, but that of fellow African musicians.

[Official Music Video]

This is the official music video for "Busy Signal's" tune, "Reggae Music Again" off of his latest album,"REGGAE Music Again".

Due to the overwhelming response from fans and industry alike, "Busy Signal's"  benchmark album "Reggae Music Again" became available digitally and in stores throughout the Caribbean on April 10 and released in the U.S. April 24. This forthcoming album on VP Records shows the dancehall artist in a new light as he pays homage to his roots with a full set of traditional reggae songs.

Better known for his sharp-spitting rhymes on hardcore dancehall hits like "Tic Toc" (remixed by M.I.A. and Rye Rye) and "Wine Pon De Edge", "Busy Signal" emerges as a charismatic roots reggae artist. The intricate, multi-layered one-drop rhythms heard on "Reggae Music Again" we recreated by some of Jamaica's most acclaimed musicians (Kirk Bennette, Aeion Hoilette, Lamont Savory, Kevon Webster, Robbie Lyn and Dean Fraser), and recorded live at Kingston's legendary Tuff Gong studios.

Even though this is a stark departure from the sequenced beats that have dominated most of "Busy's" previous material, it is not the first time fans will embrace his singing. In 2011, "Busy"  covered the classic country song "The Gambler", originally sung by Kenny Rogers for the Reggae's Gone Country compilation, and his ballad-like renditions of the 1985 Commodores' hit "Night Shift" and Phil Collin's "One More Night" off his last album D.O.B. were well-received and showed his versatility as an artist. All these songs were catalysts and motivation for his traditional approach heard on "Reggae Music Again".

"Being a Jamaican, I feel like it is my duty to highlight and contribute to reggae music, and with the encouragement of my management and musicians who played on this record, it all came together," states Busy. "This album is like a renaissance for me, a rebirth - reggae style," he adds.

In addition to the full-length album, VP Records will release a vinyl companion piece, entitled "REGGAE Music Dubb'n Again", became available April 17, special for Record Store Day on April 21. The exclusive LP will feature extended dub mixes for six of the album's songs, which are all mixed and engineered by Shane Brown and his legendary father Errol Brown.

On July 17th, YG Hootie & A-Wax will release their debut collaborative LP, Interstate Trafficking. The Bay- and Los Angeles-based rappers announced the album a few weeks back with the Gucci Mane-featuring lead single, "Make Room," and while the album will also include features from Waka Flocka Flame, Too $hort, and others, today, YG & A-Wax are excited to release a video for "No Compass," a track from their forthcoming Trap-A-Holics-hosted pre-album sampler. The video is directed by Waka Flocka's video team, Blind Folks Vision.

While previous tracks, including "Make Room" and the more recent "Doin' Something Wrong," have shown off YG & A-Wax's harder edge, for "No Compass," the two rappers grab a recent beat from producer AraabMuzik for their most laid-back track so far. YG & A-Wax trade introspective verses back and forth to start the track, building ultimately to A-Wax's slightly harmonized hook as he raps, matching the beat's washed-out feel, "I'm not sure which way to go/ No compass, I'm faded though/ Life sure is one bumpy ride/ wish someone would pave the road/ Came so far, got ways to go."
