Tiger Woods Online Statement About His Accident
"Tiger Woods", as you know by now crashed his car into a neighbor's tree early Friday morning, and now has released an online statement Sunday morning, but still has not spoken with the police as of yet.
"As you all know, I had a single-car accident earlier this week, and sustained some injuries. I have some cuts, bruising and right now I'm pretty sore.
This situation is my fault, and it's obviously embarrassing to my family and me. I'm human and I'm not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn't happen again.
This is a private matter and I want to keep it that way. Although I understand there is curiosity, the many false, unfounded and malicious rumors that are currently circulating about my family and me are irresponsible.
The only person responsible for the accident is me. My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble. She was the first person to help me. Any other assertion is absolutely false.
This incident has been stressful and very difficult for Elin, our family and me. I appreciate all the concern and well wishes that we have received. But, I would also ask for some understanding that my family and I deserve some privacy no matter how intrusive some people can be.

According to the FHP accident report, "Woods" had just pulled out of his driveway when he struck a fire hydrant and then a neighbor's tree at 2:25 am Friday morning and was observed laying in the street going in and out of consciousness.
"Tiger Woods" has refused three request for interviews was and according to the Florida Highway Patrol states that "Tiger" does not have to speak with officers that it is voluntary and optional. Sgt. Kim Montes of FHP said troopers went to Woods' $2.4 million estate anyway, only for attorney Mark NeJame to turn them away. The attorney gave troopers Woods' driver's license, registration and insurance which is all that is required by law for such accidents.
Steinberg, his agent at IMG, said in an e-mail. "Although Tiger realizes that there is a great deal of public curiosity, it has been conveyed to FHP that he simply has nothing more to add and wishes to protect the privacy of his family."
An unidentified neighbor from a 911 call states:
"I have a neighbor, he hit the tree. And we came out here just to see what was going on. I see him and he's laying down," the neighbor told dispatchers without ever identifying the victim as Woods.

But The Steering Wheel Didn't Show A Trace
The accident came two days after the National Enquirer published a story alleging that "Woods" had been seeing a New York night club hostess Rachel Uchitel, and that they recently were together in Melbourne, where "Woods" competed in the Australian Masters.
The Windemere Police Department says Tiger’s wife went outside, saw that her husband had struck a fire hydrant and a tree, and then went back inside the house for a golf club to use to try and extricate him from the vehicle. But we’ve learned Nordegren told a very different story to the Florida Highway Patrol, and it does not involve going back in the house for a club. Sources are un-willing so state it any other way.
And we’ve learned there was no blood found on the steering wheel of Tiger’s SUV — putting into serious doubt that Tiger sustained his injuries from the crash.
It has been reported that Tiger had a conversation with a friend, in which he said his wife had confronted him over reports he was involved with another woman and that his wife scratched his face up during the argument. Tiger told the friend he then left the house, started driving off and his wife then came out with a golf club, striking the vehicle. Tiger then became distracted and hit the hydrant and then a nearby tree.
It's being said that "Woods" may be deliberately delaying talking to the police to avoid them seeing his injuries, because if they're not consistent with his car crash, his wife could be charged with assaulting him. But if "Woods" does not speak to police before the 911 call is released he may not be able to spin how the call comes off to the public.
