"Jay Z" next time on the the mic will be in federal court, his soon to be former lawyer Michael DiMattia is suing "Jay Z" because has not paid his fees and he wants off the case, revealed in a letter DiMattia wrote to the Manhattan Federal Court Judge Loretta Preska, who is presiding over the case. DiMattia represented "Jay Z" in a lawsuit brought against him by former employees of his 40/40 club. The employees claim they were denied hourly wages and were compensated only by tips.
In 2008, Judge Preska found the owners of the Manhattan club were in violation of the New York labor laws after reviewing the earning reports for various employees which indicated the employees were not properly compensated for working overtime. Jay Z and company lost this lawsuit.
