Def Jam source reveals that a lot of people involved with Def Jam were not happy about the VH1 Hip Hop Honors show. This year was supposed to be a tribute to Def Jam and its 25 years of being an integral part of hip hop.

It's being said that "Russell Simmons", who is one of the co-founders of Def Jam, sent an email to film makerNelson George who was the Exec. Producer of the show, and to all the heads of Def Jam expressing how disappointed he was in the event.

"Russel" exclaimed his disappointment for not having more "L.A. Reidfootage for his contribution. "L.A. Reid" did not even show. He also expressed that he believes not having Jay-Z, Rihanna, Kanye, Dame Dash, LL Cool J or Irv Gotti involved at all hurt the show. All those mentioned also did not attend the Hip Hop Honors. He also expressed his dislike for having  "Tracey Morgan" host the show. He said that having a comedian fill in space “hurt his heart”. And the show overall was “incomplete at best”.
