"Lord I'm So Glad Your In My Life"
This is a repost of a video Deleswa posted previously this year which he produced on Studio One using the Yamaha MX49. What's different on this version? He worked on the mix to make the drums hit harder and also pulled out the bass track I previously laid using the MX49 and replaced it with two tracks from him playing my Schecter Stilletto Studio-5 Bass.

Don't judge the book by its cover, is the first thing I thought when I seen "Sevin", and I'm REALLY GLAD I didn't.
What I like about "Sevin" is that he keeps it real for himself and God, he's not trying to be someone he's not, he's being who and how God created him to be.
"Sevin" is proof positive that you don't have to be in a 3 piece suit, with your click-clacks and hat, to bring the word of God to the track. "Sevin" touches the youth and the streets in a way that a suit and tie kind of guy, wouldn't even try. He meets people where they're at, and shows them where they can go and grow, through his testimony, his rhymes and his beats, "Sevin" gets sinners and saints out their seats, to worship and glorify the goodnes and mercy of God, and "Sevin's" ministry is real, not a facade. From reading his bio and listening to his lyrics of praise and worship, "Sevin" is one of the REALEST DUDES, I've never met, but I'm glad I had the opportunity to be introduced to his ministry and introduce his ministry to you.
God made us all different individuals, but we all have the same mission statment, as believers, we are to go out to the streets and preach and teach the word of God. We all need to reach one and teach one in our own way with our own testimony, as long as it lines up with the word of God, and I'm glad there is a man like "Sevin" that can show the hood that serving the Lord is good. "Sevin" is also a GREAT example that God just wants you to come as you are, you can still be you, but a better, new improved you and worship God. Change comes from within, it's not about what you wear or how many tattoos you have, it's about the words coming out of your mouth and God's love in your heart!!!!
As a youngster they called him "Lucky Sevin" on the block in his Sacramento neighborhood. Now as a young man, "Sevin" has dropped the "Lucky" and picked up a microphone to become one of the most compelling and controversial rappers in the game today.
Since emerging on the scene at age 17 with his debut release "ALL OR NONE", "Sevin" has evolved from the new kid on the West Coast block to the well-seasoned, lyrical giant that he is today.
After the release of "ALL OR NONE", "Sevin" took a journey through the underground for 6 more independent releases. At age 24, "Sevin" returned from the underground with his 8th release and highly anticipated 2nd nationally distributed release entitled, "FATHER FORGIVE ME".
"FATHER FORGIVE ME" is grim and graphic in nature, but nevertheless upholds a heavy evangelistic overtome. "Sevin" is already being ranked with the likes of rap greats such as "Scarface" and the legendary "2Pac".
"Sevin" explains: “I had never really considered doing music professionally and when I first started rapping at age 16 I was horrible. Then I experienced a breakthrough and one day I could do it. I started devouring people lyrically with no practice. You know what I’m saying? Inspiration would just come to me and I would just eat fools up. Battling in schools, house parties, whatever.”
"Sevin's" knack for lyrical combat is a hallmark of "FATHER FORGIVE ME". “I believe this gift has saved my life because it gave me an opportunity that I didn't have before. I had no plans for college, no job, I was just on the turf all the time and without this gift I probably would have been involved in a lot of other things to make money, and none of them good.” "Sevin" says.
"Sevin's" God brothers were the Kenoly Brothers, the sons of veteran Praise and Worship artist Ron Ron Kenoly. “It was the Kenoly Brothers who got me saved and helped me get my first Record deal. The day I got saved, God revealed to me what He wanted me to do with my life.” "Sevin" says.
"Sevin's" parents were very religious when he was a young boy. He didn't grow up listening to rap music or R&B. He grew up in the church until he was about 12. That’s when things changed because his family didn’t have any money.
“It wasn't like everybody was trying to rap in Sac when I was coming up. It wasn't really a feasible thing to do. There really isn’t anybody from Sacramento that has made it as a rapper.” "Sevin" said. But with the release of "FATHER FORGIVE ME" that changeed it once and for all.
“You have your rappers who are really involved in the urban cimmunities and cultures and then you have cats who are just doing it because they think its going to make them look cool and make some money.
Im still very involved in the streets except now its in a positive manner. I’ve been homeless, I’ve lived in cars and moved around and stuff and God would give me favor and get me through it. So I’ve got to give back. I have tats and a ponytail because I’m true to who I am and where I come from,” "Sevin" says.
“Me as a Christian, I am the church and its my job to bring the church to the streets. A lot of people feel that you have to go to church and be saved… no. You can be saved and then go to church. So that’s why I stay in the streets. I’m out here and I bring it to where the people are at.
I do my music so the people can feel it. I got into this game to bring these
people to Jesus Christ. All my homies are hustlers and gang bangers and I’ll never forget where I came from. I did this album for me. All my other albums, I did for everybody else. I had some stuff I wanted to get off my chest.
For so long I let other people tell me what to do with this gift that God gave me. People have tried to water me down artistically because I push the envelope as a Gospel rapper.” "Sevin" says. "Sevin" continues to push the envelope as an artist. Performing on “FATHER FORGIVE ME” are secular artists Cocaine (on “Black Woman” and “In Jesus Name”), and Bad Azz (on “Wasting Time”).
In addition to producing many of the tunes on the project "Sevin" welcomed several guests producers to the project including: The Lab Rats, Greedy, Numbers and Christsyde Records Label mates ABG .
“Father Forgive Me” is just me asking God to forgive me for being a pleaser of man rather than a pleaser of God. At the end of the day I’m just a young black man trying to be righteous in a wicked world. That’s what I rap about.”
"Sevin" says, AMEN!

(22) Tracks Off His Double CD "Canton Jones"
Double CD (22) Tracks "Dominionaire"
I know the "Dominionaire" is almost a year old, but with the release of some new videos, I thought it would be cool to feature his album for some of ya'll who haven't heard it yet, but are seeing the videos. What I like, is the all 22 tracks are inspired by a Psalms or passages from the Bible. Plus peep the last video that talks his "CAJO University", which gives you could kids 12-18 the opportunity to be critiqued, shaped and molded with their talent, rather they're a rapper, singer, dancer, producer or preacher.Check out "Canon Jones" talks about his album "Dominionaire" to the "Black Gospel Blog".Why a double disc? “It had been so long since I had a project out," Jones explained. "I had so much music I wanted to release. In fact, you’d be surprised how many songs did not make the album. We settled on these 22 tracks because they were the best ones to represent me at this point in time, where I am in my life.”The music on Dominionaire, explained Jones, “goes from hip hop to R&B to what we call R&P – ‘rhythm and praise’ – to jazz. There’s straight praise and worship, even a steppers' groove! There’s something on the CD for the entire family. “I make CDs for the family,” Jones added. “So if parents have children who are listening to the music, I want them to enjoy the experience as well. I don’t want it to be like, ‘Mom likes it but the kids don’t,’ and vice versa. We want it to be a family experience," Jones laughed, "almost like Disney!”On the origin of the album's title, Jones explained, “Dominion is the name of my son. We named him Dominion because when my wife was five months’ pregnant, the doctor said that his heart stopped beating. At that point, we took authority over the situation. We said, ‘Our child isn’t going to be like this.’ We took dominion over death and sickness, invoking the words of Jesus Christ. “We added the ‘aire’ to Dominion to give it that quartet feel. My dad, who sang quartet with the Nobleaires, went on to be with the Lord last year. The title in part pays respect to the quartet movement. But it also has that prestigious feel of having an abundance of dominion.”The two-CD set features a lineup of major gospel talents, including Deitrick Haddon, James Fortune, Keith “Wonderboy” Johnson and Mr. Del. Jones' wife and mother are also among the guest artists. “A lot of people pitched in to make this project happen,” Jones replied. The first single from Dominionaire, “Window,” is already impacting radio. “People need to hear something positive, they need something to look forward to,” Jones explained. “The song simply says, ‘I see a window over your head and it’s pouring out blessings.’” Most importantly, the thematic content of Dominionaire is in step with the worship warrior movement heralded by groups such as Shekinah Glory Ministry and worship leaders such as Phil Tarver. In a nutshell, it’s taking a proactive position over the forces of evil. “Dominion is the theme, taking dominion, taking authority, taking over because of the authority you have in Jesus’ name,” Jones said. “On ‘Be Healed,’ you take dominion or authority over sickness. There’s a song called ‘In Da Club,’ where you take dominion over a club where Christians wouldn’t be allowed, or at least they definitely wouldn’t be dominant."On the song, ‘That Devil,’ the line goes, ‘if anybody sees that devil, tell him I’m after him.’ Some old songs say, ‘the devil thought he had me, but I got away,’ meaning you were being chased by the enemy. ‘That Devil’ states, ‘if anyone sees the enemy, tell him I’m after him.’ It’s a different mindset from being somebody who’s kind of passive as a Christian to somebody who walks in dominion, in authority, like God told us to.“In the proactive mode, you make things happen,” Jones continued. “You take charge of the situation you are in, and you don’t necessarily wait until you are attacked. So, for example, before there’s a need for healing, we claim health. That is a proactive instead of a reactive mentality. That’s what Dominionaires are. We’re coming to take over and recover all; we’re not necessarily going to keep fighting the enemy off. We’re going to squash the enemy until he goes away!”The album encourages listeners to have confidence in their role as children of God. “If we realize we are sons and daughters of God,” Jones said, “then we will have more confidence in our ability to ask Him for what we want and need. People are familiar with ‘God will supply all your needs,’ but they are also familiar with ‘The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.’ In other words, He’s going to eliminate your wants AND give you what you need. "For example, my child may do something bad in school or be reprimanded by her teacher, but she’s still going to have food, she’s still going to have the best clothes, all of the best that I can supply her with because she is my child. She may have to go to bed early or something like that, but she will still get everything she needs simply because she’s my child."What advice does Jones have for new and emerging artists?"I tell artists, 'you were born with a distribution deal: that’s your right leg and your left leg.' You have to be aggressive. You should distribute the truth to as many people as you can, and if you are faithful over a few, God will make you ruler over many. When you’ve done all you can, passed out as many CDs as you can, and sing as many places as you can locally, then God will see that faithfulness and take you to the next level. You can’t be a superstar overnight. Before you go across the world, make sure the person across the street knows who you are."Now that their new CD has hit the stores, Canton Jones and his team are preparing to tour Germany. A Dominionaire tour is in the works for March and April of this year. “This generation is dying and they need hope,” Jones said. “We want to give our young people the truth and the truth will make them free.”

Today, "Transparent" has ministered at approximately 250 different venues across the world (Churches, Cruises, High Schools, Colleges, Talent shows, and Award shows). "Gospel" artist "Deitrick Haddon" has dropped his 11th album called "Church On The Moon". The cd was released on January 25th and is already nation wide the number 1 Gospel album.
Emerging from the highly competitive gospel scene in Detroit, Michigan, with its numerous and skillful traditional choirs, "Deitrick Haddon" has made his mark in progressive gospel styles. Drawing on a range of secular music that extended from classic soul to hiphop, "Haddon" made a point of using his music as a ministry to the unchurched.
Born May 17, 1973 in Detroit, he was the son of Bishop Clarence Haddon, pastor at the Unity Cathedral of Faith, a Full Gospel church on the city's west side. "Haddon's" mother Joyce also became a minister. Bishop Haddon used music to attract and to help focus the lives of young people in the troubled neighborhood, organizing Trinidadian steel drum classes at the church and incorporating the instruments into church services. But Unity Cathedral also had a choir, and "Deitrick" was soon enlisted to direct it. Actually, "Haddon" started preaching before he turned to music.
Showing a gift for holding the attention of a crowd, he gave his first sermon at age 11. Soon his mother encouraged him to take solos with Unity Cathedral's 60-voice adult choir. "Haddon" was reluctant at first. "I'd be crying while I was singing," he told an interviewer from the Kay 3 Music Web site. "I was shy back in the day and I hated to sing. But they [his parents] pushed me to do it. Sometimes I'd be sleeping and my friends would wake me up and say, hey D.D., they callin' you to do a solo." Two years later, the church's regular choir director resigned; and young "Haddon" was appointed one of two choir directors.
"Haddon" would remain in his choir director post for over 15 years, until moving to Florida with his wife in the mid-2000s. He also served as Unity's assistant pastor. The choir took on the name "Voices of Unity" and became known beyond Detroit. Unity Cathedral itself grew and opened a branch in the Detroit suburb of Inkster. Signed to the small Tyscot label in 1994, "Haddon" and "Voices of Unity" issued the album "Come into This House" the following year. "Live the Life", released in 1997, began to put "Haddon" on the gospel music map as it won two Gospel Music Workshop of America awards, one for New Artist of the Year: Urban Contemporary and the other for Album of the Year: Urban Contemporary.

Depending upon who you ask about this gentleman you’ll receive a plethora of aliases "Rapsody", "Mr Clean", "Mr. Seldom Seen" or "Menace Tree", despite the wide range of aka's the thing that remains the same is the anointing on his music. "Donald Ray Johnson III" known as "Menace Tree" (pronounced Ministry) has been a minister of music for well over a decade. Although music is his passion he considers the wife of his youth, who just celebrated their 10 year anniversary, and their 4 children to be his 1st ministry.
In January 2003 "Menace Tree" released his first album entitled “Manna“ under the name "Rapsody" from his "2:11 Muzik" record label which was well received in the "Bay Area" and raised the bar on many levels for "Gospel Rap/Holy Hip-Hop" artists.
"Menace Tree" is a 2009 graduate of the "School Of Worship Arts" program at "The Ministry Training" Institute in Vacaville, California. His resume includes ministering at numerous juvenile institutions, adult correctional facilities including Pelican Bay State Prison, colleges, churches, and the list goes on. A native of Fairfield/Suisun, California "Menace Tree’s" heart is to bring Jesus Christ to his community, his county, his region, and across the globe. Above all, he aims to remain available and in proximity to the throne that he may be able to effectively communicate the heart of God to people of all walks.
In 2010 "Menace Tree" did it again releasing his "Jaws Of Life" mix tape with some old and some old made new tracks, that still slap. "Menace Tree" has a hard hitt'n style, that makes you want to slap da beat and turn up the dial. While you will be entertained by his metaphors, delivery and flow, he make is plain that "Christ" is the only way to go. God is prevalent and relevant in every track he spits and that's why "Menace Tree" is comfortable where he sits. Not in it for the money, recognition or fame, "Menace Tree" is in it to save souls, and bring glory to God's name.
