"VALLEJO" MOVIE PREVIEW Trailer
Dropping November 2011

Picture
"Vallejo,CA" has given birth to a lot of "Bay Area" rappers like, "E-40", "Mac Dre", "Lil Bruce", "Mac Mall", "Moe Green", "Celly Cell", "The Click", "Jay Tee", "Sugar T", "N2Deep", "The DBZ", "Willie Joe", "Baby Bash", "Young Lay", "TopKat" and too many more to name.

"Vallejo", is like a double edge sword, you have your rich parts and your poor parts. Some live real good in and out the hood. But at the same time, "Vallejo" is a city who has filled bankruptcy in 2008 and since then, has seen a rise on crime, murder and prostitution.

With a population of 116,760 to 117,798, resulting in a growth of 0.9% between 2000 and 2010. The city's residents are well-educated, as an estimated 24% have college or graduate degrees, and another 36% have attended college and/or received two-year associate degrees. Ethnically and racially diverse — Hispanics comprise 20% of the local population; 30% are White; 22% are Black; 25% are Asian; and 3% are of mixed or other heritage

I don't know where they get these stats, but aint never seen "Vallejo" described like that."Vallejo" ranks #33 out of #342 in crime

Rapper "THC COLEONE" plays "IVAN CARTER" in the (707) movie all about the good and bad in the hood, of "Vallejo".  The movie "Vallejo" shows you how grimy and dangerous it can be on the streets of "Vallejo", if you're living a life where you have to fight. "Vallejo" might be amovie, but for some out this way in the "North Bay", it goes down like this everyday.

Check out "Black Zeus" as "Nella" and "Alex Garrett" as "K.K."

"Christian" artist "Qheen The Redeemed", "R.E.I.G.N" and "Transparent" performed live in June of 2011, ministering the gospel and the love Of God, along side of "Operation T.H.U.G.S." (The Harvest Unit Gathering Souls), at the 2nd Annual "Juvenile Hall Summer Jam".

The purpose was to help send a message of love and encouragement, to not be moved by your circumstance, but that God is able and ready to transform your circumstance, if you're willing to take a stance.

From the Fairfield Daily Republic 6/18/11:
The emcee, Derf, who has spent about 15 years volunteering at juvenile hall had this to say:“We didn’t come here for entertainment. We came out for edification,” he told the crowd of about 120. "But Jesus came and changed my life so I could be here with you,” he said.

"Qheem the Redeemed" told the youth he used to rap with the late Mac Dre. “I grew up in the Country Club Crest (considered one of Vallejo’s roughest neighborhoods). They say nothing good comes from there.

"REIGN", a female rapper from Oakland, whose name stands for Reaching Everyone in God’s Name, rapped, “This is God music. This is good music. This is should music. Should be played in hood music.”

Dean Johnson, a member of the Oakland A’s chaplain team, showed some feats of strength before delivering his message.

"Dean Johnson", a member of the Oakland A’s chaplain team, showed some feats of strength before delivering his message. He tore a metal license plate in half, squished soda cans so the contents squirted all over the place and bent the steel rod in his mouth.

"Transparent" closed the night. Until he gave his life to God in 2005, the rapper said he was doing everything wrong. “I was doing what I thought was cool, what a man was supposed to do. When Christ turned my life around, he was the role model I never had,” he said.

"
Operation T.H.U.G.S." is a Fairfield based ministry, but globally minded who's mission is: "This is all done for Christs glory, not ours. We are His vessels and we are seeking to be lights in dark places...join the cause of Christ today! Help us to win souls".

"Drums & Ammo" Drop New Free EP
"Vol. 1: Extra Clip"

Picture
In April, West Coast production collective "Drums & Ammo" released a free instrumental album, "Vol. 1". The album saw "D&A" stepping from behind the scenes, putting names and faces behind all of the production work they've done, a collection of tracks old and new that have earned them the ear of artists including Raphael Saadiq to Keak Da Sneak, Del The Funky Homosapien to DaVinci, Moe Green, Messy Marv, Bambu, DaVinci, and more.

And now, the foursome comprised of 6Fingers, Al Jieh, Ammbush, and REL are releasing "Vol. 1: Extra Clip", their new EP and a follow-up to their recent instrumental album. While the album found the producers stepping into the foreground, this new EP places them back in a collaborative mode, working again with a variety of up-and-coming talent from around the California, and particularly Northern California, something important to the producers. "There's a lot of talent up here in the Bay Area and throughout the NorCal area that goes overlooked," explains Al Jieh. "With this EP, and a lot of the work we do in general, we wanted to help shine the light on some of that talent."

For those already familiar with "Drums & Ammo's" extensive production credits, "Vol. 1: Extra Clip" offers a dose of familiarity with tracks like "DaVinci's" "Blame Game" and "Bambu's" "We Mobb In That...," and others, while also offering up never-before-heard songs, like "Now," produced by "6Fingers" and featuring Vallejo rapper TopKat, or "Addicted," a soulful track produced by "Al Jieh" that features "DaVinci" and soul singer "Rae Rosero".

"For listeners that are still getting familiar with our sound, "Extra Clip" is a good example of the diversity we bring to the table," says REL, who will be releasing his own instrumental album this summer. "It's West Coast music, but the sound is global."
